More than 10,000 entries from 98 countries have been received for the contest under the second edition of XPOSURE 2017
The extraordinary increase of more than 70% in participation over last year highlights the huge popularity and success the first of its kind photography festival in the region has achieved since its debut, said the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the media and communication arm of the Sharjah government.

The competitions which are the main attraction of the XPOSURE 2017 are aimed at identifying, encouraging and rewarding extraordinary talent in various genres and styles of photography at home and from around the world. The winning works are selected on the basis of various technical and professional criteria and values such as setting, location, lighting and camera angle etc., by a jury of renowned international photographers.
The idea is to identify talent from an early age and harness the talent of beginners and amateur photographers in a region where such talent is rare. The winners, whose names will soon be announced, not only do earn monetary rewards, they get the opportunity of a lifetime to work under and with some of the biggest names in the business and celebrated, award-winning photographers from around the world, said the organisers.

The overwhelming response and number of entries from within the country and the region and from around the world showcasing international talent shows the immense success and popularity of XPOSURE in the region and around the world. This is a unique opportunity for all photography professionals beginners, amateurs and professional as well as members of the public to meet and interact some of the best and celebrated photographers from around the world and seeing them at work, right here in Sharjah.

Hectic preparations are underway to make XPOSURE 2017 even more interesting and rewarding with world-class activities and programmes that would add to the achievements of the first edition and enrich Sharjah's cultural scene and vision in supporting creativity.
The International Photography Festival celebrates both the Press photography and creative art, exhibiting the work of some of the finest practitioners of the art as well as giving opportunity to amateur enthusiasts.
XPOSURE 2017 is set to bring on board an even bigger talent pool and comprehensive agenda of photography-focused events.
