SA filmmaker to attend Vancouver Festival --

Across the Colour Bar, directed by AFDA masters student Nkantu Luscious Dosi, is a documentary film which paints a vivid and thoughtful picture of the life and times of Ntabiseng (Charmaine) Hibbert, who relocated to Katlehong Township in 1995. The film has been selected to appear at The Vancouver South African Film Festival (VSAFF), which runs from 10 to 12 April in Canada. Thanks to a grant from the National Film and Video Foundation, Dosi will be in attendance.
This great expedition will be a learning curve to learn and share with other filmmakers who cherish our craft. Going to Vancouver also allows me to represent South Africa, especially the little boy or girl from the township - to show them that they can one day have their passion acknowledged on the other side of the world, says Dosi.

VSAFF presents features and documentaries which explore the culture, history and politics of South Africa films that both entertain and inform. VSAFF is a non-profit event organized entirely by volunteers. All proceeds from the festival go to supporting the educational development work that Education Without Borders has been doing in South Africa since 2002.
