Supplier Award: ZEI awards supplier honor to HAP GmbH Dresden

OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 27.06.2013.

ZEISS has honored HAP GmbH Dresden with the Supplier Award of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group. The manufacturer of precision and automation technology received the highest point total ever in the supplier ranking, with particularly high notes in quality and development cooperation. "In recent years, HAP has demonstrated a very stable supplier performance and always reacts flexibly to changes a vital characteristic in a constantly changing business such as ours," stated Dr. Hermann Gerlinger, head of ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group.

ZEISS and HAP GmbH Dresden have been working together for around 10 years. HAP supplies the photomask systems product range with highly precise components. Dr. Ralph Kl sges, Head of Development at Semiconductor Metrology Systems strategic business unit, adds that "We particularly value the open communication and the service support for our machines. Our partner takes a proactive approach to our requests and continually improves the components we require."

HAP has now reach the Managed Supplier stage of the SUCCESS supplier management program of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group. We have a close relationship that has continued to grow over the years," says Peter Schlindwein, Director of Supply Chain Management at Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group, who was succeeded by Dr. Hendrik Seliger in mid-June. "The companies are bound by a solid foundation of trust."

After the award ceremony, Dr. Steffen Pollack, President of HAP GmbH Dresden, stated that "HAP thanks ZEISS for the opportunity to push the limits of what is physically and technically feasible, and to help turn innovative ideas into reality. For the employees of HAP, the Supplier Award is recognition of their high level of dedication and what we have achieved together." HAP GmbH Dresden, founded in 1991, specializes in handling, automation and precision technology with key applications in nano and microelectronics. The company has counted ZEISS among its customers since 2003.

The Supplier Award is part of the SUCCESS strategic supplier management program and has now been bestowed for the 7th time. The performance figures from 2012 were used to determine this years winner. SUCCESS classifies all suppliers strategically, regularly evaluates their performance and is enhanced on an ongoing basis. As new Head of Supply Chain Management at Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH, Hendrik Seliger is now in charge of the SUCCESS program effective immediately.
