When Barnsely Hospital started planning for a major upgrade to their Radiology Department the list of requirements was comprehensive. They needed a system that would provide the high image quality, lower patient dose, increased workflow and improved patient experience that the service demanded, it would need to represent value for money, and it would need to be a system that staff were comfortable with and found easy to use.

Simon Ainsworth, Radiology Services Manager, added Fujifilm have gone out of their way to deliver a best-in-class technical solution as well as value for money.

Fujifilm installed 3 retro-fit rooms featuring a range of D-Evo II detectors, including the C24 for use in neo-natal, plus an FDR Go Mobile. This solution enabled the Department to provide a cost effective upgrade of their existing CR equipment to digital radiography. The team now benefits from the innovative D-Evo II features, including enhanced image quality, lower dose, and detectors that are lightweight, antibacterial and strong.

The new generation D-Evo II detectors also feature Virtual Grid which has brought a number of benefits to the team, as Elfeet explains Virtual Grid has proved popular with radiologists due to the enhanced diagnostic quality, and with radiographers for the ergonomic benefit of only needing to handle the lightweight D-Evo II detector without a grid.

Fujifilm also provided prompt pre-installation service, worked around our requirements when installing the equipment, provided excellent training and the aftercare has been great.
