Viz Wer .4: More creative control

Version 2.4 is the latest version of Vizrt's powerful weather system Viz Weather.

The update includes multiple tools to give the meteorologist additional weather visualization capabilities as well as provide new options for branding a weather show.

Do more with Viz WorldThe integration with Viz World in the Viz Weather user interface has been optimized to allow for more interface controls. The hops editor - a tool for defining a map point in an animation - now has interactive controls for creating a map animation point directly in the map preview. This gives the meteorologist an easier way of defining how the map will animate on-air.

Adding locations found in Viz World is now performed from within the Viz Weather interface. Search the entire database of places and points of interest as well as content from OpenStreetMap and use them in the weather presentation. Multi-language support from Viz World is also integrated into the Viz Weather interface.

Designing in Viz ArtistViz Artist is the design application for which all Vizrt graphics are created. Viz Weather now gives the operator the ability to edit a scene in Viz Weather then take the scene directly to Viz Artist for more creative editing. Once the edits are finished in Viz Artist, the operator is able to easily bring the new scene back into Viz Weather for playlist control.

Working with ConceptsViz Weather playlists are capable of being displayed with several different designs while keeping the same weather information using Concepts. With a simple dropdown menu, choose between various custom designs for the weather playlist or have several designs within a single weather playlist.

Weather visualization tools

Visualize weather data in 3D bars for a new and interesting way of showing model data.

Viz Weather 2.4 includes several new weather visualization tools for clearly displaying weather data.

Special objects - The Viz Weather operator can now add in special objects to a weather scene from within Viz Graphics Hub. This places the assets in a central location allows them to be shared and reused in various scenes.

Geochart plugin - Visualize weather data in 3D bars for a new and interesting way of showing model data

Grid2point - Create custom weather points and have model data automatically applied to those points. This gives a consistency of data and allows the point data to be animated over time.

Flows and Fronts - A new simple workflow has been created to add and edit Flows and Fronts to the weather map.

Filters - An advanced filtering option has been added to automatically add points to a weather scene according to weather conditions.
