Endemol Announces Changes in Format Acquisitions Team

ENDEMOL ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN FORMAT ACQUISITIONS TEAM Endemol, a world leader in multiplatform entertainment, today announced changes to its format acquisitions team. Global Head of Acquisitions, Grant Ross is stepping down to take up a new role outside Endemol, which will be announced at a later date. Grant first joined Endemol in early 2007 as Director of International at Endemol France and was promoted to Global Head of Acquisitions at Endemol Group in October 2009.

Grant's responsibilities are being taken up by Acquisitions Manager Erik de Winter, who has been promoted to Global Manager of Format Acquisitions. Erik joined Endemol in September 2011 from Absolutely Independent where he was Marketing and Sales Director. He formerly worked at RCV (now Entertainment One) as Sales Representative, TV.

Endemol's recently acquired formats include Israeli reality show The Extra Mile from Studio Glam, which launched last Tuesday in Israel on Channel 10, becoming the highest rated launch in the history of the channel and its most watched program in two years. Endemol announced at MipTV 2014 that it had acquired the rights to produce the format in key territories including the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, Turkey and across Scandinavia.

Other acquisitions include Babes on the Bus from Nordic World, which Endemol has sold to multiple markets including Germany, The Netherlands and Australia. The latest version of the show is due to launch soon in a prime time slot on Nine Network, produced by Endemol Australia.

By targeting the best third party formats on the market we have built a great line up of acquired shows, which are rolling out across the Endemol network to broadcasters around the world. Grant Ross adds: I've had a fantastic seven years at Endemol and I'm sad to be leaving behind such a great company and enormously talented colleagues. I can't think of anyone better qualified to lead the company's acquisitions business than Erik, who has the ideal skills and experience to continue building on everything the team has achieved.
