GoPro Teams with I AM THAT GIRL to Celebrate Empowerment

In October 2014, I AM THAT GIRL chapter leaders came together to learn about honesty, connection and shifting girl culture. The girls flew from across the country to a beautiful retreat in Southern California; some had never been on a plane before or even left their home state. The chapter leaders captured their journey and experience with a GoPro, filming video diaries from the moment they packed their bags and boarded their flights.

GoPro athlete and Olympic Gold Medalist Jamie Anderson was invited to speak at the I AM THAT GIRL retreat and to lead a discussion on How to Champion Yourself. In a world where everyone is watching, it's easy to compare yourself to others and feel pressure from peers. Jamie discussed topics such as balancing responsibilities and mental, physical and emotional self-worth, truly inspiring everyone involved.

I AM THAT GIRL is helping girls to transform self-doubt into self-love by providing a safe space to connect and have honest conversations that matter. Over the past six years, I AM THAT GIRL has connected with hundreds of thousands of girls, building a community and group of influential supporters that enable them to reach over 5 million people. With over 100 local chapters and an online community of over 200,000 I AM THAT GIRL empowers, supports and educates a global community of girls.

We are community and a support system transforming self-doubt in to self-love and raising the standards for how girls treat each other, and how they treat themselves. Being THAT GIRL is an identity, a responsibility, and an opportunity to stand for something bigger than yourself. THAT GIRL is the best version of each of us. We're perfectly flawed and a constant work in progress. We have brilliant hearts and beautiful minds. We are the author of our own lives, beautyFULL in our own skin, and we speak our truth. While we are certainly out to change the world, we must first start with ourselves.
