Berlin, July 06, 2023 - As the new boyfriend on the scene, planning a game night with your partners closest friends sounds like the perfect way to get in their good books. But when your partners ex shows up unexpectedly, the cards are reshuffled and the competition escalates - even the best strategies go down the drain! How does it play out? The filming of the new German Netflix movie SPIELEABEND, which lasted just two months, has recently wrapped. A first sneak peak of the ensemble comedy was aired as part of the Munich International Film Festival.

Newly in love, Pia (Janina Uhse) and Jan (Dennis Mojen) decide to arrange a game night with Pias friends. As Jan meets Pias clique (Taneshia Abt, Axel Stein, Anna Maria M he) for the first time, hes under pressure to make a great impression. But when Pias ex (Stephan Luca) shows up, even the tips from Jans good friend (Edin Hasanovic) cant help him. Its all to play for - his relationship, friendship and even the truth itself.

The movie was directed by Marco Petry, who has already inspired a large viewcount with comedies like Partly Sunny and Playing Doctor. The producers were Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann and Marcus Welke from Production firm W&B Television (Dark, 4 Blocks, Pagan Peak). Sasha B hler and Lars Wiebe led the project at Netflix.
