All Star Musicals - line up confirmed

All Star Musicals confirms its line up of seven celebrities, all of whom will be taking to the stage at the London Palladium to perform an iconic musical theatre number.

Broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, money expert Martin Lewis, Only Fools and Horses actress Tessa Peake Jones, I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp host Joel Dommett, comedian London Hughes, Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank and Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh, will be aiming to impress the audience and the star panel, all of whom will be judging them based on their performing credentials.

Each of the celebrities will be mentored by Elaine Paige as they prepare to embark on this once in a lifetime performance. Elaine Paige will be joined by Broadway icon, Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth, dance sensation Kevin Clifton and West End star Trevor Dion Nicholas.

After each performance, the panel will aware the celebrities a score and at the end of the night, these scores are combined with the studio audience vote to crown one celebrity the All Star Musicals champion.

All Star Musicals returns to ITV this Spring, hosted by John Barrowman. The one-off show, produced by ITV studios label Shiver, will also feature very special performances from John and all of the all-star panel.

All Star Musicals is commissioned by Siobhan Greene, Head of ITV Entertainment, Louise Major, Assistant Commissioner and Peter Tierney, Assistant Commissioner. Executive producers for Shiver are Richard Hastings and Leanne Witcoop and Series Producer is Lewis Thurlow.

Martin Lewis

I don't listen to music. I don't sing. I've never been in a choir. And I've said no to lots of TV talent show type programmes. Yet my little girl loves musicals, and so I've been watching them with her; and when I mentioned that I'd been asked to do All Star Musicals, she got very excited. And I love my little girl, and I love a challenge. So I'm going to try and take my vocal chords to places they've never been before!

Daniel Brocklebank

My motivation for doing the show was to do something that took me out of my comfort zone. Coronation Street is such a wonderful place to work and as a result you feel very safe. You know the cast & crew inside out as we all work together every day. This sort of show breaks all those rules & forces you in to a new situation.

Also I love singing. I sing at home all the time but in 25 years of being an actor I've never really used my voice in this way. It's always good to try something new & push your boundaries.

The main challenge for me will be the staging of it I think. Singing & dancing at the same time takes a huge amount of stamina. And as I can't dance... I'm hoping I don't have to do too much of it...

London Hughes

Since I was a kid I've always wanted to be in a musical! I used to spend hours in my living room dancing around and performing for my Teddybears. Now I get to perform for industry professionals, the Palladium audience and millions of people watching at home! Yep, no pressure then.

Alan Titchmarsh

Ive always loved musicals and while I have always resisted taking part in any reality TV shows I found the chance of being able to sing on the stage of the London Palladium irresistible. That said, Im now scared stiff! I sang as a boy in the church choir and later as an adult, but I have never sung anything like this in public. Eeek!

Tessa Peake Jones

I was keen to do this because I wanted to be shaken out of my comfort zone and boy am I being shaken!!!

I'm really excited about the Palladium and being part of a team musically with an ensemble as I've never had that experience!

The challenge at the moment is pacing my breath and vocal chords for the duration of the song and I will NEVER say musicals are easy from now on! How little I knew!
