Nelvana Celebrates International Kids Emmy for Mike the Knight

Series takes home top honour in the Preschool category

Corus Entertainment's Nelvana is thrilled to announce that Mike the Knight has taken top spot in the Preschool category at the 3rd International Emmy Kids Awards, hosted by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Awards gala, which honoured kids television series across six categories, took place Friday, February 20 in New York and included 23 nominees from 17 countries.

This is the eighth Emmy win for the Nelvana Studio. Mike the Knight, which airs across various networks in territories worldwide, including Nickelodeon and Nick Jr in the U.S., Treehouse in Canada, Cbeebies in the UK, TF1 in France and Discovery Kids in Latin America, was created by Alexander Bar (Bob the Builder) and is a treaty co-production between the UK's HIT Entertainment and Canada's Nelvana.

Set in the medieval land of Pendragon, Mike the Knight takes viewers into a rich CGI-animated world of castles, dragons and trolls. With his rallying cry, Be a knight, do it right! the heroic Mike brings the excitement and enchantment of medieval times into the life of the modern preschooler.
