Commenting on the latest figures Jim Jennings, Acting Managing Director, RT Radio said: This is a very strong book for RT Radio with gains throughout the week on Radio 1 and 2FM and RT lyric maintaining its audience share. The figures cement Radio 1's position as the number 1 station in the country and it continues to deliver quality programming for its audience. There are very encouraging signs for 2FM with the gains that it has made and with the changes coming on stream from the new Head, Dan Healy, we believe that the station is heading in the right direction.

RT Radio 1 has made gains to its weekday schedule, with book-on-book consolidation across key slots. The latest set of listenership figures sees the station retain its position as Ireland's most-listened-to radio station, with a weekly reach of 1,325,000 (+ 3,000 BoB). Radio 1 is the only station in the country with a weekly reach of over 1,000,000.

Tom McGuire, Acting Head of Radio 1, says: It's great book for Radio 1 with the weekends being the big winner. We have build on a loyal audience through the week and enhanced weekend programming has delivered new listeners in abundance. On weekends, our female presenters Claire, Marian and Miriam draw huge audiences while Saturday and Sunday Sport also prove to be big hits amongst our listeners.
