Day four at NAB saw a fresh range of news, announcements and product launches. TVBEurope rounds up some of the highlights.

Grabyo unveiled Grabyo Editor, a browser-based video editing tool for creating short highlights and social videos in seconds. Its intuitive interface enables professional-level output editing, including transitions, audio edits and titling without the need for specific hardware, software licences or extensive training. The company's holistic platform now provides users with a suite of video tools for real-time clipping, live event production and video editing.

Avid and BeBop Technology also launched a partnership to make Media Composer and Avid NEXIS available in Microsoft Azure Cloud. The BeBop Cloud platform virtualises processing-heavy workflows such as visual effects, rendering and animation in the Cloud using flexible high-speed storage. Avid will be the first fully bundled software solution offered on BeBop.

Meanwhile, Red Bee Media announced record low latency on their live OTT feed, reaching as low as 3.5 seconds glass to glass, faster than traditional broadcasting feeds. This was achieved using commoditised, Cloud-based, open source standard technology via open internet connectivity only.

Red Bee Media head of OTT and media management, Steve Russell, said: This is a true milestone for Red Bee Media and our managed OTT services offering. We are very proud to have achieved latency this low, using only open standard technology and it really shows the strength of our team and our offering. We can now deliver video to OTT faster than traditional television. We are determined to drive OTT as a premium viewing experience.

Nevion signed a deal with Brazilian broadcaster Rede Amaz nica at the show, which will see Nevion deliver an IP-based solution for a number of its facilities, incorporating Cisco Nexus 9000 switches, Nevion's Virtuosos, the software-defined media nodes, VideoIPath, the orchestration and SDN control, and CP-Touch control panel. The first phase of the solution is expected to go live in September 2019.

Rede Amaz nica CEO Phelippe Daou Junior and Nevion CCO Hans Hasselbach Finally NAB released attendance figures for the show, with a total attendance of 91, 460, representing 160 countries. This marks a 1.6 per cent dip from last year's figure of 92, 912.
