Television producer and development executive Richard Korson, who ran Jon Stewarts Busboy Productions for six years, has reached a development deal with truTV. Korson will put his comedy experience to work developing comedic programming designed to appeal to truTVs targeted young-adult, dual-gender audience. He will also work on development companion programming for truTVs sports telecasts, including the networks portion of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship.

Korsons development deal with truTV comes just as the network is participating in the 2014 Realscreen Summit in Washington, D.C. Chris Linn, president, head of programming for truTV, is set to participate in a Meet the New Boss forum. Ronca will conduct a 30 Minutes With session. And Liz Alderman, director of development & original programming, will participate in a luncheon roundtable and speed-pitching session.
Korson headed up Jon Stewarts Busboy Productions from 2005 to 2011, during which time he oversaw the production of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Korson also developed and supervised production on any new projects generated at Busboy and was a key member in developing The Colbert Report and Important Things with Demetri Martin. He continued his involvement as executive producer of Night of Too Many Stars, an event that has raised more than $15 million for autism education.
Prior to his tenure at Busboy Productions, Korson served as director of development and production at Comedy Central, where he developed and oversaw production of such successful programs as Insomniac with Dave Attel, TV Funhouse (with Robert Smigel), Chappelle Show, Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit For Autism Education and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.
Korson is also involved in helping produce the annual comedy/music benefit supporting the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research annual benefit.
