NEW MIPDRAMA SCREENINGS NAMES SIX INTERNATIONAL CREATORS AND SHOWRUNNERS TO HEAD UP SELECTION JURY

Paris, 17 December 2015 - Six international creators and showrunners will lead an all-star Selection Jury for the first-ever MIPDrama Screenings, a new day-long accelerator, showcasing world premieres of the best scripted content to drama buyers attending MIPTV 2016.

The MIPDrama Screenings Selection Jury includes: Teresa Fern ndez-Vald s and Ram n Campos, Showrunners for such hits as The Refugees, Velvet, and Gran Hotel (Spain); Chris Long, Director and Executive Producer of The Americans and The Mentalist (USA); Sarah Phelps, Writer and Executive Producer for And Then There Were None, whose credits also include Casual Vacancy and Great Expectations (UK); S ren Sveistrup, Creator and Writer of Forbrydelsen/The Killing (Denmark) and Anna Winger, Writer and Co-Creator of Deutschland 83 (Germany).

The Selection Jury will designate the 12 programmes that make up the MIPDrama Screenings Official Selection. The programmes will be exclusively previewed during this invitation-only drama screenings showcase.

MIPDrama Screenings is designed to meet the growing international demand for high-end drama series, especially originating from Europe, as well as other major drama-producing territories.

The day-long event will culminate with the MIPDrama Screenings Buyers' Choice Award 2016, which will be presented by the international Selection Jury.

The first edition of MIPDrama Screenings will see 350 leading acquisition executives invited to the JW Marriott Hotel, Cannes, France, on Sunday 3 April 2016 the eve of MIPTV 2016.

The MIPDrama Screenings are open to all producers and distributors worldwide who wish to present high-end new drama from across all genres. The deadline for programme submissions is 5 January 2016. All submitted programmes will be previewed by the Pre-Selection Committee made up of Reed MIDEM and international industry experts. The resulting shortlist will then be reviewed by the Selection Jury to arrive at the final 12 entries.

MIPTV, the world's entertainment content market, runs in Cannes, France, from 4-7 April 2016.
