Portugals TV Record Europa Moves to File-Based Production with Grass Valley

TV Record Europa selects GV STRATUS for its studios and control room

Hillsboro Ore., September 6, 2013 Grass Valley has announced that TV Record Europa in Portugal, has selected GV STRATUS for installation in its studios and control room in order to upgrade to a file-based solution for News and live production. On the ground, TV Record Europa is working closely with Grass Valleys local partner, Telef nica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA). This win is one of several large GV STRATUS deals that Grass Valley has announced in recent months.

GV STRATUS is the only solution on the market that offers a full set of production workflow tools in one application. It offers end-to-end support for all aspects of News and production delivery in one framework, including ingest, editing, content aggregation, logging, transfer and playout. Its unique design means GV STRATUS is extremely easy-to-use and is suitable for a whole host of broadcast and video production environments including studio production, play-to-air and News.

TV Record is one of Brazils largest networks completing 60 years of continuous broadcasting, currently transmitting its signal to over 150 countries around the globe. TV Record Europas headquarters is based in Lisbon Portugal, broadcasting 24/7 in Portuguese across Europe, Africa and Asia. GV STRATUS will efficiently produce workflows for TV Record Europa in its three new studios and its control room. TSA will support TV Record Europa through all phases of the project from planning and implementation to training.

Broadcasters are continuing to migrate their existing tape-based systems to file-based infrastructures because they are so much less expensive to operate, said Said Bacho, Senior Vice President EMEA, Grass Valley.
