Riedel gives a giant step in intercommunication with the launch of Bolero Fully integrated with the digital Artist intercom matrix and expandable DECT and IP-based, Bolero takes advantage of NFC (Near Field Communication) and ADR (Advanced DECT Receiver) technologies.

Riedel presented at Prolight & Sound 2017, Bolero, a new solution for wireless intercom that promises to change the rules of the game. Bolero is an intercom system based on DECT expandable, completely itinerant in the 1.9GHz license free frequency range.

Fully integrated with Riedel Artist digital intercom matrix, Bolero will offer a rich set of features and connectivity that may be applied in three ways: as a package of exceptional band wireless, a wireless keyboard panel and for the first time in the industry as a walkie-talkie.

Bolero is powered by an AES67 standards-based IP network. Decentralized antennas are connected to switches AES67 and then to the Artist frames equipped with cards of customer AES67, providing an ecosystem of intercom point to point fully integrated with seamless roaming capabilities. In terms of the flasks note that resemble Riedel panels, but they are wireless, providing the highest levels of flexibility and programmability.

The voice of high clarity Bolero encoder provides a greater speech intelligibility and a more efficient use of the spectrum supporting the beltpacks twice per antenna for the same bandwidth of audio than other systems based on DECT. Bolero has ADR (Advanced DECT Receiver) designed diversity receiver technology exclusively by Riedel for to reduce the sensitivity to the reflections of RF multipath, making the system usable in difficult RF environments where other systems have great difficulties.

Jake Dodson, Riedel product management director, stresses that "when we design a wrap, we wanted to make life as easy as possible for the customer. The registration can be a complex process that requires that a user enter the menu of the clip and apply a pin code so you can register in the respective antennas. This process can easily take a couple of minutes by beltpack. Imagine doing this for twenty-five beltpacks. Bolero incorporates both the clip and the active antenna Near Field Communication technology, the user only needs to bring the beltpack to the antenna to complete the registration process".

Body-pack hands free

On the other hand, note that Bolero supports Bluetooth 4.1 which allows to connect a Bluetooth headset or a smartphone. When a smartphone is connected, the beltpack can act as a "hands-free" so that the user can receive calls on your phone and talk and listen through your handset beltpack. Users can also make calls, and then connect to that person on the intercom matrix, eliminating the need for a hybrid phone.

Based on the extensive experience of Riedel rental, seat belts use a combination of quality materials, including high-impact plastics and rubber sobremoldes, to create a waterproof device with an ergonomic feel that facilitates its use and management. In addition, the screen can be reversed to make it readable in any orientation.

Each cube has six buttons for each of the six channels of the intercom, more a separate button for response provided to easily respond to the last channel that it called. Finally, note that the beltpack can be used without a handset as a walkie talkie radio using a built-in microphone and speaker.
