The American Society of Cinematographers will present a panel of master artists discussing their experiences on a variety of projects here at Cine Gear Expo this Saturday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. The seminar is designed to inspire the next generation of filmmakers, and educate the industry on the role of the cinematographer.
The 90-minute panel, in the Sherry Lansing Theater on the Paramount Lot, will delve into the artistic nature of cinematography, using real-world examples to demonstrate the process of creating a visual style for projects based on each member's experiences. The dialogue is structured so that questions from the audience drive the conversations, and will be moderated by George Spiro Dibie, ASC, chairman of the ASC Education and Public Outreach Committee.
Based on availability, the panel will feature: Bill Bennett, ASC; Dean Cundey, ASC; Michael Goi, ASC, ISC; David Klein, ASC; Chuck Minsky, ASC; Don A. Morgan, ASC; Guillermo Navarro, ASC; James Neihouse, ASC; Daniel Pearl, ASC; David Perkal, ASC; Cynthia Pusheck, ASC and Lisa Wiegand, ASC.
Dibie notes, The ASC is dedicated to educating the next generation of filmmakers by sharing our knowledge and experiences. This panel will address the relevancy and future of cinematography from the set through post.
The ASC panel is free with admission to Cine Gear Expo, and seating is on a first come basis.
