The Washington Post's Arc Publishing today announces it has signed broadcaster Graham Media Group, a subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company, giving its stations access to Arc's industry-leading video content management system. This is Arc's second U.S. broadcast client in as many months, following the launch of Raycom Media in December. Arc's video CMS equips broadcasters with the technology they need to distribute their video in real-time across a variety of digital platforms, ensuring they reach the broadest possible audience, said Scot Gillespie, CTO at The Washington Post. We are pleased Graham Media has entrusted Arc to power such an important part of their digital strategy. It is a testament to the technology's multi-site capabilities and exemplifies how Arc seamlessly integrates with a brand's existing tech stack.
Graham Media, which includes affiliates in Houston, Detroit, Roanoke, San Antonio, Orlando and Jacksonville, will use Arc's video platform technology to manage broadcast content for digital distribution. The cloud-based system features an automated workflow that enables journalists to quickly and efficiently cut and publish live video to the web, mobile, social media and other channels as well as publish breaking news video during a broadcast to these platforms. Its multisite capabilities provide even greater efficiency, allowing for more seamless coordination across newsrooms and effortless content sharing between markets.

The Arc platform now powers news brands in nearly half of the top 20 markets in the U.S. The platform is built on top of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Elemental Media Services that make it fast and easy to prepare, process and deliver broadcast and over-the-top video from the AWS Cloud. The Amazon Elastic Container Service and the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) have helped The Post quickly build and scale the Arc platform.
