FilmNation Entertainment selects two Australians for placements in Los Angeles and New York

FilmNation Entertainment has selected Kristina Ceyton and Christopher Sharp to take up professional placements in Los Angeles and New York, supported through Screen Australia's Talent Escalator program.

The two made it through a rigorous selection process against a strong field of outstanding emerging producers and development professionals to secure the opportunity to spend six months in one of the world's most dynamic film companies.

FilmNation Entertainment's Allison Silver, Executive Vice President (EVP) Worldwide Production, assessed the work of five shortlisted candidates who were asked to submit written proposals demonstrating their ability to assess scripts and write coverage under a tight time constraint. The final decision on the placements was made by Silver and Alison Cohen, FilmNation Entertainment's EVP, Business and Legal Affairs.

Kristina will work with the FilmNation team in Los Angeles, inside its feature film production department under President of Production Aaron Ryder, where she will be responsible for: writing detailed coverage, preparing analysis of scripts and ideas, and preparing writer, director and cast lists and script notes on projects.

Christopher will work in New York, where the company is based, in the acquisitions department under Silver, where he will be responsible for: evaluating scripts and writing coverage for evaluating scripts, writing coverage for Film Nation's international sales business, preparing projections, marketplace analysis and tracking submissions.

Cohen, who created this unique opportunity for aspiring film industry professionals, said she was impressed by the overall standard of the field and delighted to have selected two particularly outstanding candidates who will be a great fit for FilmNation.
