The Son-in-Law (El yerno) is a sharp, dark, and painfully funny take of the great Mexican dream - the tragicomedy of being Mexican and wanting to make it at any cost. Big dreams, easy shortcuts, and massive downfalls. Directed by Gerardo Naranjo, written and produced by James Schamus, and produced by Fabula, the production company founded by Pablo and Juan de Dios Larra n. Starring Adri n V zquez as Jos S nchez, with Jero Medina and Ver nica Bravo, among many other Mexican actors and actresses.

The Son-in-Law (El yerno) explores betrayal as a central narrative thread, portraying it as a widespread practice in this country. The film is a provocation, inviting us to examine a reality that is equally ridiculous and contradictory. - Gerardo Naranjo, Director

Ever since we finished Somos, Ive dreamed of returning to Mexico, hoping I might once again experience that same energy, talent, and warmth. With The Son-in-Law (El yerno), that dream came true. It's a new adventure and an even bigger explosion of Mexican creativity. A few days ago, the Guadalajara International Film Festival announced that The Son-in-Law will be part of the Official Selection at its 41st edition, where it will compete for the Mezcal Award. The film will screen on April 18 in the Guillermo del Toro Theater, with the main cast and director in attendance.

The Son-in-Law arrives on Netflix worldwide on May 1 and to select theaters in Mexico on April 19.
