20 August 2020 Beta Films best seller Hudson & Rex continues its international success story, travelling across Europe and over the channel. Beta Film has sold the series to UKTV for Great Britain and Ireland, TV4 for Sweden, TV 2 for Denmark and Forta for Spain.
The series will TX on UKTVs Alibi channel later this year and the acquisition was secured by Charlie Charalambous, Acquisitions Manager.
The action-packed police series has already been sold to over 100 territories, including Italy (RAI), Germany (TNT Serie), France (Mediawan / France Televisions), the Netherlands (CLT UFA), Eastern Europe and Africa (NBC Universal), as well as Latin America (Telemundo, Belleville Group, Channel 12).
Hudson & Rex airs in Canada on Citytv and is the networks #1 original scripted hit series. It revolves around the special partnership between the dedicated detective Charlie Hudson (John Reardon, The Killing, Van Helsing) and his extraordinary former K9 dog Rex (German shepherd Diesel vom Burgimwald). From kidnapping, homicide and hostage situations, to fraud and corruption in high places, Charlie, Rex and their team are a force to be reckoned with.
Hudson & Rex is produced by Shaftesbury and Pope Productions in association with Citytv and Beta Film and is the first English-language adaptation of the highly successful European format Rex, A Cops Best Friend.
