Allan Walsh, a hard-working, dare-devil construction worker in upstate New York, is a risk-taker. Every day, as a high-rise construction worker perched forty plus stories above the streets of New York, Philadelphia, or New Orleans, Walsh learned to put everything on the line to get the job done. Of those times, Walsh says the first thing you learn in order to perform such hazardous work is to let go of the fear of what might go wrong.
It is with that same sense of letting go of the fear and putting everything on the line that Walsh is launching INFERNO-2033, a multi-platform, sci-fi adventure project on Kickstarter.
Set in an apocalyptic future of global conspiracy and tactical nuclear war, INFERNO-2033 is the story of Sands Simon, former Special Ops war hero turned enemy of the state, who is imprisoned in the bowels of the Inferno, a massive prison ship five times the size of an aircraft carrier. With the world plunged into chaos, the ship is set on a course for destruction, and the lives of 66,000 convicts are on the line-only Sands has the knowledge and skill to save them.
Walsh says he came up with the idea of INFERNO-2033 while hanging off the roofs of skyscrapers, and that the story has been playing on the screen of his mind for the last five years. INFERNO will cost tens of millions of dollars to produce for the big screen, and because Walsh, as an independent video producer, doesnt have a track record in big-budget movie-making, he decided to put together the development and packaging himself and take it to a studio for production.
After writing a detailed outline of what he envisions as a three-part epic, Walsh looked for graphic artists to bring his hero and the massive prison ship to life. He found his artists in Russia and Poland, and together they have laid the foundation for what will become a graphic novel, movie, and ultimately, video games. Walsh then brought aboard his writing team Michael and Sherry Compton (Carjacked, 2011) to write the script.
Walsh says he has done all the preliminary work-work that has cost him countless hours of sweat and tens of thousands of dollars out of his own pocket. With a little help from the Kickstarter community, Walsh is confident he will have a fully realized package-complete with script, visuals, talent, and marketing data-that will capture the interest of the Hollywood studios.
