Nexidia Wins Two IABM Design and Innovation Awards

Nexidia, developer of dialogue and audio analysis technologies, won an IABM Design & Innovation Award at IBC2013 for two of its products - Nexidia Dialogue Search and Nexidia QC. This is the first time a single company has been awarded two IABM Design and Innovation Awards.

Nexidia Dialogue Search is able to search for any spoken word or phrase across large media libraries in seconds, and Nexidia QC is a software tool for enabling automated closed caption, video description, and language verification for broadcast and IP workflows.

Nexidia Dialogue Search searches through media libraries to find any spoken word or phrase in video and audio files. The phonetic-based technology allows organisations to quickly find unique assets that would be extremely difficult to locate using traditional metadata. Dialogue Search also aims to reduce logging and transcription costs and integrate directly with other media asset management and editing applications.

Nexidia QC automates manual processes to reduce operating expenses. It checks quality automatically at every point in the life of an asset to ensure that the right caption file appears against the right media in the right language, with the correct caption coverage and timing. QC also verifies that video description content was actually aired, automating verification and logging for legal compliance.

Each year, the IABM Design & Innovation Awards recognise products that offer significant solutions to the broadcast supply industry. An independent panel of industry professionals looks for innovation with real benefit to the industry. After a review process and a demonstration of the shortlisted products during IBC2013, IABM announced the winners at a reception on 14 September. Other winners included the Neuron from Axon Neuron and Ikegami's HDK-97ARRI.
