2016 SAFTA nominees announced --

The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) celebrate their 10 year anniversary in 2016 with a new look and theme: Imagine . The awards, which will take place on 18 and 20 March, honour outstanding talent in the local industry and award Golden Horn trophies to the year s achievers.

Leading nominations in the Feature Film categories are Dis Ek Anna, which earned seven nominations including for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting for a Feature Film; Best Achievement in Directing for a Feature Film; and Best Feature Film. While You Weren t Looking and For Love and Broken Bones each earned six nominations, while Made for TV movies The Gift and Rise earned eight and ten nominations respectively.

ZA News : Puppet Nation once again leads nominations in the Television categories, with eleven nominations including two in the Best Achievement by a Lead Actor in a TV Comedy; Best Achievement in Directing for a TV comedy; and Best TV Comedy.
