Less than a month after hosting the largest single-day sports event on the planet, Allegiant Stadium welcomed the SVG Venue Summit to Las Vegas on Monday. The event, which drew more than 200 sports-production professionals from 50+ teams and venues, spotlighted the state-of-the-art NFL venue and its role in pulling off Super Bowl LVIII, as well as the latest advances in venue technology, creative videoboard content, and best practices for game-day entertainment.

The 2024 SVG Venue Summit drew north of 200 attendees to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for panels, presentations, and an exclusive video-centric tour.

Opening during the COVID-19-impacted 2020 NFL season, Allegiant Stadium has become not only the center of a burgeoning sports town in Las Vegas but also an important piece of the league's next wave of hyper-active and tech-focused stadiums. Attendees were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the control room, docking bays, rack room, and other key production areas in the building.

After three years in their new home, the crew is comfortable with the technology at their disposal and has elevated production quality to new heights. In a presentation, Justin Casserly, senior director, game and event presentation, Las Vegas Raiders, recalled when the stadium was being designed, the challenges navigated in bringing the control room up to speed, the special elements and activations seen on a typical game day, and more.

Super Bowl Spotlight: Behind the Scenes With Allegiant Stadium, NFL, Van Wagner Later in the day, Bob Becker, president, productions, Van Wagner; Aric Carpenter, director, production technology, Allegiant Stadium; and Tim Tubito, director, event presentation and content, NFL, took the stage to explain how they teamed up to entertain fans during the NFL Championship Game, how they worked with CBS Sports to enhance the show, how logistical challenges were overcome, and more.

What Happens in Vegas Entertains in Vegas: How Local Venues Fire Up Fans Sports are only one option in a city with endless opportunities for fun. To capture fans' attention, sports venues around Las Vegas create engaging content and unforgettable experiences on any given game day. Local production leaders from the Vegas Gold Knights, UNLV Athletics, HyperX Arena, and 3 Point Productions discussed how their creative ideas, along with high-quality technology, help them stand out.

Connectivity Update: 5G, Enhanced Wi-Fi, Internal Signal Transport Stadiums are gradually implementing new systems for increased connectivity. From 5G to DAS to Wi-Fi 6 and beyond, experts from JPM Technology Consulting, Nextologies, and Verizon Business Group dissected how an enhanced infrastructure is allowing fans to delve more into the game-day production and how video signals and other information are transported with more efficiency.

In-Venue Technology Deep Dive: What's New With 4K, IP, HDR Allegiant Stadium is not alone in investing in new technologies on the backend. Closing out the day, top tech brass from Ross Video, WJHW, Alpha, EVS, and Canon offered an update on in-venue workflows; where the industry is at on topics that include 4K, HDR, and IP; and how control rooms will continue to work at a high level in the future.

The day also featured two compelling case studies: Sony's Revolutionizing Broadcast and Sports Production With 5G Live Production and HEVC and Matrox's How Fuse Technical Group Leverages IP Video for Live Shows and Venues.
