Senior Researcher

Manage the collation and distribution of the regular summary performance reports. Critically assess performance of individual programmes based on timeslots, performance, competitor landscape and make recommendations to programming department.

Answer all questions regarding ratings, forwarding rating data

Critically assess channel performance, against that of competitors and draw conclusions

Answer requests about programme ratings and provide context to channel performance

General research, including consumer insight

Ensure that the business is regularly informed about consumers and competition, through seeking consumer insight and competitive intelligence

Support the business with research data and analysis and prepare ad-hoc analysis/reports he/she is assigned by the Strategy Manager

Analyse competitor channels performance and programmes and make suggestions for grid changes

Manage all stages of ad hoc research which includes the design, commissioning and agency

Maintain contact with the external research partners

Maintenance and Administration

Keep abreast of research developments and new sources of information affecting our business (e.g. trade press, Internet, programming etc.)

Manage all relevant research information sources and databases.

Regular communicate research finding and rating/performance information across the business

Liaison

Maintain contact with International research teams and projects

Develop close and knowledgeable relationships with scheduling/marketing/production personnel and other relevant departments at all levels

Participate in relevant presentations and meetings, hosting and presenting where required

Requirements

Experience in both quantitative and qualitative media research

Experience in preparing and making presentations

Understanding ratings related data

Outstanding Excel skills and solid PowerPoint skills

Experience in audience survey research (design, implSouthentation) and focus group experience

Knowledge of digital media reporting tools (eg, Omniture, Comscore etc.)

Knowledge of research tools (AG Nielsen/Arianna, TGI etc.)

Personal Skills/Attributes

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including presenting research findings and ability to explain basic research methodologies

Ability to work under pressure

Supportive attitude

Numerate with strong attention to detail

Ability to analyse data and look beyond numbers to interpret

Analytical thinking

Willingness to do some travel across Africa and occasionally Europe

Passion for the African continent
