Blackmagic Design has released Blackmagic Camera for iOS 3.3, a free update available now from the Apple App Store. The update will be demonstrated at NAB Show 2026 (Booth N2502).
We really want to help everyone use their iPhones in professional productions and to come up with new ways that the iPhone can be used, says Grant Petty, CEO, Blackmagic Design. The Apple Watch companion app does that because it means you can mount an iPhone anywhere and still have full control of it from your wrist. But the most exciting feature is the brand new support for ATEM camera control and the Blackmagic Zoom Demand and the Focus Demand. This means you can use the iPhone as a studio camera while holding onto the tripod handles to focus and zoom. It's a real studio camera and it's a lot of fun!
Apple Watch Companion App
The update adds an Apple Watch companion app that allows users to start and stop recording, monitor framing and audio levels, adjust exposure, focus, and LUTs, and change lenses and control zoom from their wrist.
ATEM Camera Control
When connected to an ATEM Mini via Blackmagic Camera ProDock, the iPhone can function as a studio camera. Video, tally, and camera control are sent over a single HDMI cable. Users can adjust white balance, ISO, shutter, focus, and zoom remotely from ATEM Software Control, and a built-in DaVinci primary color corrector enables camera matching during live production. An optional ATEM Micro Camera Control panel is also supported.
Focus and Zoom Demands
The optional Focus and Zoom Demands connect to Blackmagic Camera ProDock via USB-C and can be daisy-chained. Each unit mounts to tripod handles and includes customizable buttons for camera functions.
Additional Updates
Full screen portrait mode HDMI output
Front camera support for portrait and landscape without rotation for iPhone 17
ProRes RAW stabilization support in iOS 26.1 and above
General performance and stability improvements
