Mobile Viewpoint announces WMT UltraLink posted: 08/09/2017
The world's first 12G 4K-enabled mobile encoder
Mobile Viewpoint, a leading IP contribution solutions company, has today announced the latest addition to its revolutionary product range with the WMT UltraLink, the company's most powerful yet portable 4K-enabled mobile transmitter. The ground-breaking product is commercially available as of today and will be available for demonstrations at IBC2017.
The WMT UltraLink is another shining example of Mobile Viewpoint's commitment to research and development, bringing exciting new features that have been directly driven by the requirements of Mobile Viewpoint customers. Capable of delivering true 50/60 frames-per-second 4K and Ultra HD video quality from the field using 4G bonding technology, the WMT UltraLink is the broadcast equivalent of a luxury sports car.
As well its 4K abilities, the WMT UltraLink boasts 2x 6G and 12G inputs for added performance and flexibility, as well as support for both H.265 and H.264 encoding, which ensures total end-to-end compliancy using standards-based decoders or IRDs. On top of the live streaming option, the UltraLink can record on an internal solid-state disk.
Smaller than a shoebox, the compactness of the WMT UltraLink makes it easier than ever before for broadcasters to deliver best-in-class video quality from any location with minimal equipment. The 10 bonded connections including WiFi and Ethernet deliver the enormous upload speeds that are necessary for 4K streaming and data Internet access or file upload at the same time.
The growing deployment of 4K channels in Asia and China made us develop the WMT UltraLink. This is the first time that a 4K-enabled transmitter delivering true 50-60Hz content has fitted into such a portable device, and the video quality it enables is something that has not been available on the market until now. We're excited to see how broadcast contribution moves forward thanks to the power of the WMT UltraLink.
During the demonstrations at IBC, attendees will be able to see first-hand how the WMT UltraLink is operated and the various benefits it can deliver to broadcasters of all sizes. It will be on display alongside the rest of the Mobile Viewpoint product range.
Mobile Viewpoint will be exhibiting in Hall 14, booth F21 at IBC.
