Nolly Africa jumps on board Nigeria s digital switchover with support from ABS Broadcast --

ABS Broadcast has launched AMC s third television channel Nolly Africa which has landed on the Inview platform as part of Nigeria s sweeping digital switchover.
The brand new Nollywood channel is part of the African Movie Channel network and is their first 24 hour free to air television channel.
African Movie Channel approached ABS Broadcast to provide a quick and cost-effective playout, scheduling and project management solution for the launch. ABS established connectivity to Nigeria from their playout facility based in London within a one week deadline and are providing a managed playout and scheduling solution for the channel. The scheduling is operated via ABS s cloud-based ABSolute Channel Management system.
Nolly Africa joins both AMC and AMC Series in showcasing popular African TV series and Nollywood movie content, which in itself has become the second largest global film industry.
African Movie Channel was shortlisted by the National Broadcasting Commission to be amongst the group of channels selected to be at the forefront of the switchover. Managing directors Yinka Mayungbo and Lola Onigbogi comment: Our other channels are premium services in Nigeria but we had always wanted to branch out with a third channel, so when we were approached with this opportunity we knew it was the right time. ABS Broadcast s sound expertise and speedy turnaround were invaluable in helping us secure our spot on the platform.
Nolly Africa is the third channel ABS Broadcast has launched for African Movie Channel, having previously driven the launch of both AMC and AMC Series.
Inview outbid 12 other platforms to become the NBC s official partner to drive the analogue switch off and nationwide move to digital television. The switchover is set to be in full swing by June 2017.
