Vimond to Debut New Products: Vimond Connect and Vimond IO at TVConnect
At TVConnect 2016 we are introducing two important new tools for online service providers: with Vimond Connect, we make it easy for broadcasters to create social communities within their OTT services, and Vimond IO streamlines storytelling for journalists and news editors, said Miguel Silva, EVP Sales of Vimond Media Solutions.
New Products for the 2016 TVConnect Show
NEW** Vimond Connect
Receiving its debut at TVConnect 2016, Vimond Connect provides an exciting new way for viewers to socialize while watching on-demand video content. Viewers can comment on videos as they watch, and their comments remain anchored to the exact moment in the video when they were posted. This enables a dynamic conversational experience with other VOD viewers who happen to watch the same video at different times.
Vimond Connect is about relationships, about creating and maintaining the social aspect when it comes to television. Because the communication is tied to the triggering events in the video, the users can easily find all commenters relating to that specific event, making it easier to find and interact with similarly-minded viewers.
NEW** Vimond IO
Vimond IO is a frame-accurate, multi-user storytelling tool for journalists and video professionals. Vimond IO lets users quickly put stories and clips together using source material in a wide variety of file formats, while Vimond IO takes care of the transcoding. Browser based, IO provides rapid search tools for finding content stored on the Vimond Control Center (VCC), or in the users MAM system, with source and results players for intuitive editing. Editing with familiar keyboard controls, users can create stories and publish them immediately to the CMS, or to social media sites and YouTube.

Highlights 1.7
Vimond Highlights streamlines live-to-VOD conversion, for rapid short-form clip production and distribution to social media. With the support of very light-weight software, broadcasters are able to leverage existing infrastructures, yet gain tremendous speed in clip production. At TVConnect, Vimond Media Solutions will show Highlights 1.7, with new features including support for Chrome with MPEG-Dash, the ability to update already-created clips, and many stability enhancements.
Vimond Platform 1.9
The Vimond Platform 1.9 includes powerful new features designed to enhance capabilities for global operation, including new features to the already powerful curation studio, a brand new image bank, and a heavily upgraded Catalog module in VCC. On the experience side of things we have added support for sub profiles on user accounts, download-to-go functionality and Arabic language support.
Vimond Control Center
The VCC has a powerful editorial module that has everything you need to curate and layout your client apps. Version 1.9 has support for drafting, allowing curators to draft entire sections of their site before publishing it all in one go. 1.9 also enables custom metadata support on curated containers, similar to the custom, multi-language metadata support found on other objects around Vimond Control Center. This is a very powerful and flexible feature that enables full customization of client apps from one place.
VCCs Catalog module is heavily upgraded in 1.9, where editors can now manage an infinite hierarchy of content, add metadata and images at any level, and get a better overview of their catalog than ever before.
Also launching in 1.9 is Vimond Image Bank, a central image repository that effectively eliminates the need to maintain 3rd party image libraries. Images are automatically added to the bank on asset ingest, and batches of images can easily be added standalone. Curating content with rich image material has never been easier, as the Image Bank is integrated throughout VCC allowing content managers to search and select images from the bank rather than uploading from local computer.
