Oh, and we just shot this little dance video......

Here at RE:Vision Effects we concentrate on making software, but every now and then we want to get into the mix and create our own exciting content. So, we tapped one of our founders, Pete Litwinowicz, who was a professional modern dancer and choreographer for two decades and even co-ran his own dance company. Petes dance interests run deep and he is often thinking up projects to combine his passions of dance, video and software effects.

To create this latest Twixtor video, Pete approached one of San Franciscos preeminent independent ballet choreographers, Amy Seiwert, and she was game! Amy choreographs for many companies around the country, including Smuin Ballet, and the ballet companies of Washington, Cincinnati, Colorado, Carolina and many others, and also runs her own company: Amy Seiwerts Imagery. The dancers of Imagery are featured in the video.

We set up a white soundstage, with a white dance floor, and went to work. Of course we planned the shoot knowing we would use Twixtor to slow down the footage. If you havent seen our FAQ How best to use Twixtor , you should peruse it before your next shoot! We shot on a Red Epic at 120fps, and the slow motion sections are from 40x to 160x slower than real time. At 30fps, the 160x slow mo is equivalent to shooting at 4800 fps!
