Europe 1 spotlights the 40th annual Angoulme International Comics Festival

For the first time, Europe 1 is partnering up with the International Comics Festival, which takes place in Angoulme, France from 31 January to 3 February 2013. The radio station will bring this popular event to life for its listeners through a number of special broadcasts.

On va sgner: on Thursday 31 January at 3:30-6 pm, Laurent Ruquier and his commentators Pierre Benichou, Isabelle Motrot, Steevy, Christophe Beaugrand, Titoff and Caroline Diament will offer a humorous take on the goings-on from the Salle Bunuel in Angoulmes Franquin Centre. (The show will be pre-recorded Wednesday 30 January starting at 7 pm.)

Europe 1 Midi: on Thursday 31 January from 11:30 am to 1 pm, Patrick Roger and his entire team will broadcast live from Angoulmes Forum du Nouveau Monde. His guests will include Olivier Delcroix, a journalist at Le Figaro specializing in comics, Benoit Mouchart, the festivals art director, Christophe Blain, the author of Quai dOrsay, and Pnlope Bagieu, the author of Cadavre Exquis and Josphine.

Faites entrer linvit: on Friday 1 February at 10-11:30 am, Michel Drucker and his commentators Oldelaf, Camille Chamoux and Jerome Commandeur will interact with guest cartoonists ZEP and Frank Margerin from the Salle Bunuel in Angoulmes Franquin Centre for a good-humoured hour and a half.

(The show will be pre-recorded on 31 January starting at 7 pm.)

Europe 1 proudly flies the festivals colours with a number of special broadcasts

Cest arriv cette semaine: on Sunday 27 January at 10-11 am, Arlette Chabot will interview the cartoonist Uderzo.

Au coeur de lHistoire: on Wednesday 30 January at 1-2 pm, Franck Ferrand will delve into history comics with Fabien Nury (Once upon a time in France), Lornt Deutsch (The secret heroes of French history: Franois I and the Constable of Bourbon) and Jean Dufaux (Murena).

Des clics et des claques: on Thursday 31 January in the second part of the show, Brengre Bonte and her commentators will interact with comics scriptwriter Fabien Vehlmann, who wrote the latest instalment of Spirou and Fantasio.

Les Experts Europe 1: on Friday 1 February at 2-3:30 pm, Helena Morna and her team will focus on careers in comics with Patrick Gaumer, author of Dictionnaire de la Bande-Dessine.
