CANAL Polska expands playout capability with Cinegy Solutions

Munich, Germany 18th November 2024 Cinegy, a premier provider of software technology for digital video processing, asset management, video compression and automation, and playout services, today announces that CANAL Polska has chosen its solutions for an expansion of its playout capability. The broadcaster, which delivers premium channels as part of its pay-TV offering, has deployed Cinegy Air PRO, Cinegy Capture PRO to support additional HD and Ultra HD channels as it meets the growing demand for high quality content.

The combination of Cinegy Air and Cinegy Capture gives CANAL Polska a reliable, stable, functional and price competitive software-based solution that is scalable, customisable, and futureproof. The additional playout capability was delivered by CANAL Polska's long-term partner and systems integrator, Studiotech Poland.

Hubert Pogorzelski, TV Production Systems Manager at CANAL Polska, commented: The new Cinegy system was easy to implement, can be booted extremely fast, and adding new channels is a rapid and effortless process. The system delivers robust core functionality for our playout needs, ensuring reliable 24/7 operation, and we're collaborating with Cinegy to expand capabilities even further. We can also now operate it as a channel in a box for some of our services, in particular the thematic channels we provide.

As part of the project, Cinegy's Professional Services team led by Simon Pilbeam added some user-specific functionality. This included support for Kantar watermarking and the additional specific counters in GUI.

As well as increasing the number of channels, CANAL Polska is actively implementing closed captioning, said Mike Efimov, international sales manager at Cinegy. We have cross-upgraded a significant part of the broadcast channels to use Air Ultimate, and the Professional Services team is carrying out further developments to expand the functionality.

Today, broadcasters need to protect any investment for the long term and ensure that the solutions they deploy are flexible and scalable enough to stand up to an evolving business and operational strategy, he continued. Cinegy has a great partnership with Studiotech Poland, which has been using our software for many years, and we are delighted that the team was able to recommend our systems to CANAL Polska for this latest expansion project.
