OOONA To Showcase Enhancements to its Media Localization Ecosystem at IBC 2021

OOONA, a global provider of professional management and production tools for the media localization industry, heads to the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre in early December for IBC 2021. Exhibiting on stand 2.C32, company representatives will showcase the full range of OOONA's media localization management and production tools.

Making their IBC debut from Friday December 3rd through Monday December 6th are three additions to the OOONA ecosystem: OOONA app, support for Japanese timed text editing, and API integrations with speech-to-text and machine translation engines from selected partners.

Timed text specifications for the Japanese market are much more intricate technically than for any other language. Text is displayed vertically as well as horizontally, ruby characters and bouten marks need to be positioned precisely, a combination of full-width and half-width characters is customary, and alphanumeric text has its own set of rules. Support for Japanese timed text editing was the last piece of the puzzle for us to be able to serve the entire media localization market, adds OOONA Tools product manager Alex Yoffe.

Further enhancements include features that aim to facilitate the day-to-day work of localization staff. The OOONA mobile app allows project managers and translators to manage urgent and live work scheduling remotely and intuitively. It is available on all OOONA Integrated accounts. Viewing orders and assigning work has never been simpler, says Maya Venturero, OOONA Integrated product manager.
