Nvidia licenciar su tecnolog a gr fica a terceros Las licencias de n cleos gr ficos y patentes visuales ayudar an a Nvidia a conseguir una mayor ventaja en el mercado de los tel fonos inteligentes y tabletas.
Nvidia ha anunciado su intenci n de licenciar su tecnolog a gr fica abri ndola a terceras compa as. Sus planes comenzar an por la licencia del n cleo de la GPU basada en la arquitectura Nvidia Kepler.
Tras la introducci n en el mercado de Tegra, un sistema integrado en un chip, y Grid, una soluci n capaz de obtener el m ximo provecho de la nube, ahora Nvidia da un nuevo paso para la universalizaci n de sus n cleos GPU y su cartera de patentes de computaci n visual.
De esta forma, los fabricantes de dispositivos contar n con la m s avanzada tecnolog a gr fica. De hecho, la compa a ya dio un primer paso al licenciar a Sony un n cleo de GPU para la fabricaci n de la PS3. Adem s recibe m s de 250 millones de d lares al a o por la tarifa de licencia que debe Intel por sus patentes de c mputo visual.
Las licencias de n cleos gr ficos y patentes visuales ayudar an a Nvidia a conseguir una mayor ventaja en el mercado de los tel fonos inteligentes y tabletas.
Ante las dificultades que atraviesa el mercado de computadores personales, Nvidia se ha consolidado en los ltimos a os en el mercado de aparatos m viles, creando su l nea de procesadores Tegra para tabletas que sacan provecho de su experiencia en gr ficos.
Frente a los propios procesadores que emplea Apple en sus iPhones e iPad, ahora otros fabricantes tendr n acceso a la tecnolog a de Nvidia. De esta forma, la compa a podr a aprovechar tambi n otros mercados a los que no puede llegar a trav s de la venta de sus propios procesadores.
Este programa de licencias podr a incluir en un futuro la arquitectura Kepler empleada en la fabricaci n procesadores gr ficos de alto nivel para PCs.
