Pop-tarts, Producers, Productions...Oh My!

After a successful June 18th event on Audio: How it can Benefit Your Production (promoted by Women In Film and Video and Capital Audio Post) the evenings theme should have been How can Pop-tarts benefit my production! The answer lay in the 2 hour presentation by a panel of experts from different platforms of audio production and post.

An enthusiastic group of independent producers and media professionals from the greater DC area enjoyed a presentation geared specifically on audio and the benefits of proper planning and early consideration on how important good audio is to the picture. Freelance Producer Ali Felix listed key budgetary points how it's wise to stick' to the budget with regard to audio. Ali talked about the importance of how NOT to borrow' from one line item to help pay for another. Greg Smith, veteran field recordist, explained optimal recording scenarios and how to sound-scout' while location scouting for your shoots. Greg also discussed how a modest gear investment can yield very good results and expounded on the importance of a single item in his arsenal of audio gear - the one essential item he never leaves home without...a box of Pop-tarts!

Capital Audio Post co-owners, Frank Scheuring and Chip Sovek, finished up the evening by reinforcing how good audio from the field will always provide a good soundtrack and how audio post-production can take your project to a new level.
