Sky Sports to debate how COVID-19 has impacted Women's Sport

Sky Sports has announced new debate show, Cancelled: Women's sport & the impact of COVID-19' airing on Thursday 12 August at 8pm. The show will look at why and how women's sport has been affected in recent months since the pandemic.

Hosted by Caroline Barker, Cancelled: Women's sport & the impact of COVID-19' seeks to analyse how the trajectory of womens sport has been impacted, whether this enforced break has provided new opportunities and what the next steps are for the sporting landscape.

Joining Caroline will be Ebony Rainford-Brent, Director of Women's Cricket at Surrey CCC, Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Haynes, Joanna Coates, UK Athletics chief executive, Tammy Parlour co-founder of Women's Sport Trust and Scotland netball head coach, Tasmin Greenway.

Ahead of the show, viewers are encouraged to submit and share their questions and opinions on social media channels using #WomensSportDebate, where the panel will be answering and offering insight into the topics submitted.

Following the show, there will be an additional hour of live reaction, Women's Sport Debate: Live Reaction' presented by Hannah Wilkes, where leading athletes and thought leaders in the sport will delve further into the issues discussed and address more of the viewers unanswered questions.

Guest contributors on the live reaction include Angela Ruggiero, the four-time Olympian, World Rugby board member and co-founder of the Sports Innovation Lab, Benny Bonsu, the first female sports editor in the UK, and Sue Anstiss MBE, a founding Trustee of the Women's Sport and manging director of Fearless Women Ltd.

Both shows will be available to watch on Sky Sports Main Event, Action and Mix, as well as being streamed live on the Sky Sports YouTube channel at 8pm on Wednesday 12 August.
