Is Spain the irruption of the 5 G-ready? Europe 5G Readiness Index de InCites Consulting establece que Espa a destaca en infraestructuras 5G pero flaquea en aspectos como innovaci n, capital humano, regulaci n y pol tica.
InCites Consulting ha desarrollado una nueva herramienta online que mide la preparaci n de 38 pa ses europeos para desarrollar y adoptar redes 5G. Europe 5G Readiness Index parte de seis categor as con los criterios principales que comprenden un total de 35 subcriterios. El ndice re ne datos de m ltiples fuentes y tiene como objetivo ayudar al esfuerzo de la industria de las telecomunicaciones para desplegar r pidamente redes 5G.
Las redes 5G est n directamente relacionadas con los objetivos de la Agenda Digital para Europa y se espera que proporcionen un medio para reducir la brecha digital y mejorar la calidad de vida y de trabajo de los ciudadanos europeos. El ndice de preparaci n 5G de InCites Consulting podr a ser una herramienta til en manos de los responsables pol ticos para identificar las fortalezas y debilidades relativas de su pa s en comparaci n con otros mercados en la adopci n de 5G.
Europe 5G Readiness Index mide el rendimiento de 38 pa ses europeos en seis categor as de factores que se espera que determinen el despliegue y la adopci n de las redes 5G:
- Infraestructura y tecnolog a, incluye factores relacionados con las redes fijas y m viles existentes que se utilizar n como base para las redes 5G. Esta categor a tambi n incluye los pasos preparatorios de un pa s para el desarrollo de redes 5G, como las subastas de espectro y las redes piloto.
- Reglamentaci n y pol tica, incluye factores relacionados con la flexibilidad del marco regulador que ser n cruciales para facilitar el desarrollo r pido y sin problemas de las redes 5G.
- Paisaje de la innovaci n, incluye factores relacionados con las actividades de I+D de un pa s, su capacidad de innovaci n, la disponibilidad de fondos para apoyarla y la cooperaci n entre las universidades y la industria.
- Capital Humano, est vinculada a la calidad del sistema educativo y a las iniciativas de formaci n en el puesto de trabajo que pueden ser tiles para el desarrollo y la adopci n de nuevas tecnolog as.
- Perfil de Pa s, incluye factores relacionados con la situaci n econ mica actual de un pa s, la competencia de la industria de las telecomunicaciones y la importancia de las nuevas tecnolog as para el estado.
- Demand, incluye factores relacionados con la adopci n de redes tecnol gicas y de comunicaciones fijas y m viles, as como con el uso de Internet.
En un vistazo r pido a los resultados, InCites Consulting concluye que Finlandia, Suecia y Suiza ocupan los tres primeros puestos de la lista, pa ses que tradicionalmente han liderado el desarrollo y la adopci n de nuevas tecnolog as, mientras que Moldavia, Ucrania y Bosnia y Herzegovina se encuentran en la parte inferior de la tabla. Los resultados de este an lisis muestran que existe una diferencia significativa entre Europa Occidental y Oriental, y que los pa ses de la primera est n, por t rmino medio, m s dispuestos a acoger el lanzamiento y a adoptar la 5G. Adem s, parece haber una alta correlaci n entre la posici n de un pa s en el ndice y su posici n geogr fica, lo que crea tres grupos de pa ses con caracter sticas comunes. Tampoco es sorprendente que el bienestar de un pa s, medido por su PIB per c pita, parezca estar correlacionado positivamente con su preparaci n para los 5G.
Situaci n en Espa a Espa a ocupa el 17 lugar entre 38 pa ses europeos, por encima de varias econom as importantes, como Italia y Rusia. Sin embargo, ocupa el segundo puesto en la categor a de Infraestructura y Tecnolog a, debido a un alto rango en la cobertura de fibra, n mero de pilotos 5G y criterios de subasta de espectro, ya que las organizaciones espa olas han mostrado un inter s significativo en probar la nueva tecnolog a en todo el pa s. Infraestructuras y Tecnolog a es la nica categor a en la que Espa a se sit a por encima de la 17 posici n.
En las categor as de Paisaje de la Innovaci n, Capital Humano, Regulaci n y Pol tica, Perfil de Pa s y Demanda, Espa a se sit a entre la 17 y la 21 posici n. A pesar de la voluntad de los operadores de presionar por la 5G, un entorno macroecon mico d bil junto con un panorama an mico de innovaci n arrastran a Espa a a estas posiciones en estas categor as.
