Ashorooq TV Relocates Television Facility to Sudan with Argosy Infrastructure Products 12 Mar 2013

Argosy, a leading international supplier of HD broadcast, cables and studio infrastructure products, has supplied a range of its HD products to Ashorooq TV as part of the company's move from Dubai to a new television facility in Khartoum, Sudan.

Ashorooq TV, which started broadcasting in 2006, has become one of the most popular Arabic language television channels in Sudan, and broadcasts local news, sports and entertainment, as well as live streaming of radio and TV channels via the web.

The deal was brokered by Media Group International (formerly Salam Media Cast), a leading broadcast and communications Systems Integrator and went live on air in November 2012.

We chose Argosy equipment for a number of reasons but a significant factor was the breadth and quality of their product offering and more specifically that they hold stock locally in the region that we could source quickly and easily for this project, said Paul Wallis, Sales Director at Media Group International. The Argosy equipment provided the infrastructure backbone of the new installation in Khartoum and included Argosy's IMAGE 1000 HD video cable, connectors, patch panels and mains distributions units (MDUs).
