Harris Broadcast's Platinum routers have been adopted by Tel Aviv-based SatLink Communications and pay-TV sports provider SuperSport.
SatLink Communications will use Harris's Platinum router to help manage video, audio and data across the facility. Harris technology will enable media ingest, quality control, language versions, media management and playout preparation. The company will integrate Harris Broadcast media asset management and automation tools to manage the entire HD workflow.
Working with local distributor Bluebird TV, Harris Broadcast's MAM software will process ingest lists to check content availability status and move or restore items as required to the near-line storage. File-based ingest and archive restores are managed and prioritized according to the transmission time before being passed to the automation system, which will prioritize the content.

Pay-TV provider SuperSport has also chosen Harris Platinum router, installing its second Platinum IP3 Router after the world's first Platinum IP3 installation by the company earlier this year.
The broadcaster is moving programme playout into a new facility, which will eventually play out all of its HD and SD channels. Earlier this year, SuperSport integrated a single frame Harris Broadcast Platinum IP3 Router and within a few months placed an order for the second frame, which will tie together to create a 1152x1024 matrix.
Although we are just a few months into our usage of the Platinum IP3 router, we already can see that speed of operation, ease of operation, ease of resource assignment and operational reliability are all evident in this new design router, said Eddie McAlone, technical director at SuperSport.
