RT Software, a worldwide provider of real-time graphics solutions, has announced the launch of tOG-2d Pro, a powerful single box 2D graphics solution. tOG-2d Pro features integrated playout control, high quality graphics and preview options and is ideal for applications requiring standard overlay graphics for sports, news or entertainment. The solution is built on the success of the company's established tOG-3d platform and provides customers with an extremely cost-effective solution based on off-the-shelf hardware.

tOG-2d Pro incorporates a simple to use and intuitive interface backed by RT Software's powerful render and compositing engine. Multiple layers incorporating images, clips, text and objects, allow quick and easy graphic template creation with timelined animation. Data-driven from the ground up, tOG-2d Pro incorporates its own playout interfaces for overlapping page control with interfaces for databases, network feeds, GUIs and web. With full capability for SD/HD/3G/4K and even IP, tOG2d-Pro has already been successfully deployed around the world with major global broadcasters and media organisations. Now, with tOG-2d Pro, users receive a solution that tightly integrates creation, playout control and live rendering in one workstation at a cost-effective price point without compromising quality.

The tOG-2d Pro is ideal for customers that want high quality graphic outputs but don't have the need for a complex 3D authoring environment. In the past they would have to use a 3D solution to achieve all graphics, which meant they were getting something that was often unnecessarily complex, expensive and with functionality they didn't need. We've seen a lot of demand in the market for an easier approach that, with smart use of prerendered sequences as backdrops, delivers graphics that appear to have come from a full-on 3D system, says Mike Fredriksen, commercial director, RT Software.

As a result, we've developed tOG-2d Pro, which cleverly fills the gap between the easy-to-use 2D graphics products of yesteryear and the production demands of modern broadcasting.

The system can be used for traditional overlay-style graphics, such as DVE, straps, ticklers and full forms, as well as channel branding and playout centre graphics. It is also fully upgradeable to the 3D version - tOG-3d Pro - at no cost penalty to provide users with an upgrade path.
