Telekom Slovenije posts new TSstartup tender Ljubljana, February 14 Telekom Slovenije's TSstartup business accelerator announced a new call for applications. After a successful implementation of the business accelerator first generation projects, Telekom Slovenije now offers an opportunity for cooperation to developers at home and abroad with a new call to participate in the TSstartup programme, with the application deadline by 8 March 2013.

TSstartup business accelerator established by Telekom Slovenije invites young companies and developers who are looking for an opportunity to present their idea or solution successfully on the market, to enter to the second TSstartup competition. All who wish to participate in TSstartup programme can apply until 8 March 2013 via internet portal http://www.tsstartup.si/ where terms and conditions are also are published. Companies, teams, and individuals who work in developing web, mobile and telecommunications services are all welcome to apply, this time participants from abroad are invited as well. The expert committee will select the applications with most potential, and the selected teams will start with the programme at the business accelerator on 18 March 2013.

Telekom Slovenije's TSstartup business accelerator is the first programme in Slovenia which offers participants everything they need for intensive development and preparation to enter the telecommunications market. To this end, Telekom Slovenije will be offering young companies and developers office space in Ljubljana with all the necessary infrastructure, mentorship, professional help, and specialized training in hardware, software, business, and entrepreneurship for four months. With this programme Telekom Slovenije wants to create an environment which will stimulate technological and business innovativeness, offering the company's infrastructure with premises where the exchange of opinions, knowledge, and experience brings tangible results. The participants will cover their own boarding and transport costs. The applicants selected to participate in the programme will compete for the monetary-fund prize of the total of EUR 30,000.

TSstartup First Round

In September last year, Telekom Slovenije introduced TSstartup business accelerator, publishing the first tender aimed at companies, teams and individuals developing online, mobile, and telecommunications services. The response in the first round of TSstartup exceeded all expectations with as good as 78 teams entering the competition, from which the competition committee selected the following 11 best teams: Amplio, Aventa , DnA, FOOTURE, Fylet, GVision, Beer up, Povabi.si, Ribon, Sportfiq, and Stream.io. After 4 months of intensive work, the 11 finalists presented their work to an expert committee comprised of Sao Savi, Simon Furlan, Ale Speti, Mark Pleko, and Marko Jakli. The committee divided the prize money of 30,000 between two teams, Fylet (20,000) and Aventa (10,000).

The Fylet team, which is made up of Dragoslav Radin, iga Zupanec, Predrag Krsti, and Petra Volk, developed an application for transfering photos between smartphones and computers. It is a service that automates many functions for photos and video footage, enabling a simple transfer between phones and computers, while copies of the file remain on both devices. Transmission between the devices is encrypted and direct, without going through the cloud.

The Aventa team is made up of Tine Hamler, Toma Orter, Smiljan Kereni, and Toma Nedeljko, who developed the new app Peekster, which works as a link between printed media and web content. Users can take a picture of the article they are reading and in an instant the app provides images, footage, similar articles, etc. from online sources. Aventa is convinced that Peekster is the long awaited proper solution for readers of traditional newspapers and magazines around the world.
