Each year Britain's soaps make us laugh, cry and gasp in equal measure but above all they keep us on the edge of our seats, week in, week out.

The British Soap Awards honours the very best work in our most popular television shows. Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks all go head to head to find out who will be going home with a hotly contested Soap Award. As ever, the trophies are presented by some of the entertainment world's brightest and most famous faces. Find out who you have voted as your Villain of the Year; who has been getting you hot under the collar as we discover the winners of Sexiest Male and Female; and who will be receiving this year's prestigious Outstanding Achievement award.

Other coveted awards handed out on the night include Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Dramatic Performance, Best Comedy Performance, Best Newcomer, Spectacular Scene of the Year, Best Storyline, Best Single Episode and the big one, Best British Soap.
