Globo expands its movie catalog and presents four new titles at the 06 Natpe

Catalog has 15 movies and over 1,000 minutes of the best in Brazilian cinema

For the third consecutive year, Globo will bring the best in Brazilian cinema to Miami. They are four new titles by Globo Filmes, portraying Brazilians and their country in unique ways. This year's highlights are Tim Maia,' Good Luck,' Last Night,' and My Mom is a Character.' They are movies with renowned actors and directors, in addition to the well-known high quality of products offered by Globo.

The Brazilian company's international catalog currently has 15 titles. There are more than 1,000 minutes of comedy, drama, romance, and adventure that meet the needs of the most varied grids in the international market. With the mission to contribute to the strengthening of our domestic audiovisual industry, Globo Filmes has produced more than 170 successful movies in partnership with other Brazilian producers. And the best of that will be presented at the 2016 Natpe.

The history of Brazilian funk and soul is told in the movie Tim Maia,' a biographical drama that depicts the life and art of Sebasti o Rodrigues Maia, better known as Tim Maia. The film, which features actors Cau Reymond ( Brazil Avenue') and Alinne Moraes ( The Illusionist'), recreates the trajectory of this popular Brazilian singer, starting during his teenage years at a neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, where he began his career alongside household names from Brazilian music, such as Roberto Carlos and Erasmo Carlos. It goes through his time in New York, where he came into contact with the black movement and music. Until his explosion, with dozens of hits that made him one of the most popular and beloved artists in Brazil.

Good Luck' is a drama that tells an unlikely and transformative love story involving Jo o (Jo o Pedro Zappa, Fifties Club'), a 17 year-old, inexperienced and shy, and Judite (Deborah Secco, Irrational Heart'), a thirty-something woman, who has tried everything in life and is committed to a rehabilitation clinic. After Jo o's parents find out that he is taking his mother's drugs, they decide to commit him. At the clinic, he meets Judite and this meeting results in a passion that will mark the boy's future forever. An artistic and engaging plot.

The movie catalog also includes two comedies. The first one is My Mom is a Character', about Dona Herm nia (Paulo Gustavo, Men are from Mars... And Thats Where I'm going'). The main concern of Dona Herm nia, a middle-aged, retired, and lonely woman, is taking care of her children. But now that they have grown up and keep confronting her, the solution will be to give them the silent treatment and leave home. Without a job or a husband, the housewife decides to talk to an elderly aunt.

In Last Night,' all that Ana (J lia Rabello, Rules of the Game') wanted was to throw a huge New Years Eve party. But during the event, the bathroom becomes the primary scenario, where all the gossip and controversies take place. That's where Ana's husband confesses that he's going to leave her. That's also where she discovers that the real reason for their separation is their neighbor Rosa (Luana Piovani, The Invisible Woman'). There's also a friend who recounts her sexual adventures, and where a drug dealer guest conducts his business. On New Year's Eve, anything can happen.

Tim Maia' runtime: 140 minutes.

Good Luck' runtime: 90 minutes.

My Mom is a Character' runtime: 84 minutes.

Last Night' runtime: 100 minutes.

Natpe 2016

Globo will be located at the Tr sor Tower, suite 2601, during Natpe, which will be held from January 19th until the 21st. The Brazilian company produces, exhibits and distributes multigenre content around the world across multiple platforms.
