Skeem Saam's fan-favourite characters Alfred Magongwa and Elizabeth Thobakgale are at war over the principal position and bribing teachers at Turfloop Highschool with scones and chicken.

MAGONGWA'S CHICKEN OR THOBAKGALE'S SCONES? Skeem Saam viewers were entertained last night (3 August) when Alfred Magongwa and Elizabeth Thobakgale bribed Turfloop teachers with chicken and scones to get votes before the trial.

Principal Thobakgale is being investigated for emotionally abusing teachers and Alfred Magongwa going blind last season.

She and Magongwa (Putla Sehlapelo) have gone head-to-head for the position at Turfloop Highschool.

The TVSA August teasers have revealed that Thobakgale will be replaced this month after being principal at Turfloop for more than a decade.

The teasers also reveal that the school will get a new principal when Elizabeth Serunye's character Principal Thobakgale gets demoted.

It is unclear from the teasers if she will be demoted to the vice principal, will get fired, or will get demoted to being an educator.

The teasers also don't reveal if Magongwa will get a promotion but state that a new principal will be announced on the last day of August.

The Friday 12 August reveals:

The end of an era befalls Turf High to much jubilation and heartbreak. Turf Hospital's reception post finally gets filled but not by an obvious candidate.

The Wednesday 31 August reads:

A celebration is in the order for the new chief at Turf High.

REACTIONS FROM SKEEM SAAM' FANS The teasers also suggest that Evelyn might be another candidate for Thobakgale's position besides Magongwa and Manaka (Skhumbuzo Mbatha).

The Tuesday 23 August teaser reads:

Evelyn receives an email from the district that might change her life but Alfred doesn't.

The Wednesday 24 August teaser reads:

Alfred finally receives some good news but he is worried about his competition.
