Visitors to Stand 8.D47 in the RAI Center at IBC 2015 will see and hear the latest new products from the five groundbreaking brands of The Telos Alliance just as attendees of the EBU Breakfast will hear the latest on audio networking from thought leader Greg Shay.
The first mission of the Telos Alliance has always been not just to foster exciting new ideas, but to put those ideas into action in interesting new ways that bring benefits to broadcasters every single day, says CEO Frank Foti. Visitors to our stand at IBC 2015 will be able to see and hear exactly how amazing ideas translate into amazing products!
Spotlight on Internet Streaming, Audio Processing Significant Telos Alliance products at IBC 2015 center around innovations in the Internet streaming and audio processing spaces.
Z/IPStream 9X/2 Web streaming software integrates audio processing, encoding and handoff to streaming providers within a single unified environment. First, the audio program is optimized for bit-reduction using powerful Omnia processing first developed for the groundbreaking Omnia.9 FM processor, including revolutionary Undo clipping restoration technology that reverses the damage done by brickwall audio mastering. Seven bands of audio processing and a full suite of test instrumentation complete the audio shaping suite. Then, genuine AAC and MP3 audio codecs from Fraunhofer IIS are used to encode audio for delivery to streaming distribution providers with support for Adaptive Streaming applications that automatically compensate for the varying bit-rates that plague mobile listeners. Z/IPStream 9X/2 can be run locally, or hosted on a cloud-based server for ultimate peace of mind.
Omnia VOCO 8, debuting at IBC 2015, finally solves the issue of processing the many individual voices that listeners identify with your radio station. Occupying just 2 RU, VOCO 8 shapes as many as eight microphone inputs to audio perfection, achieving the impeccable voice presence your station's staff and listeners crave. Features include eight studio-grade mic preamps with Phantom power, Dominate-It auto-levelling to spotlight designated presenters during shows with multiple mics, Session Recall to quickly recall configurations for entire shows, a 3-band noise gate and dynamics processor, 4 bands of parametric EQ, and a brick wall final limiter. Each of the 8 available channels can be networked throughout an entire facility using Livewire+ /AES67 Audio-over-IP.
Linear Acoustic AERO.10 is a full-featured audio processor for TV applications, supporting up to ten channels of audio and featuring a processing engine identical to those in the renowned AERO.2000 products. Tools such as loudness and dynamic range control, upmixing, downmixing, plus ITU and EBU-compliant loudness metering and logging make AERO.10 an extremely powerful solution for nearly any application, at an extremely low cost. Digital and stereo analog I/O are perfect for facilities transitioning from analog to digital audio; a comprehensive TCP/IP remote provides control over all system settings and processing parameters plus extensive metering and logging of loudness, plus remote auditioning of audio for signal quality assurance anywhere link bandwidth permits.
Telos Z/IP ONE IP Codec delivers the most reliable, highest-quality point-to-point remote audio possible using advanced technology to tame public Internet connections. Telos (inventor of the Zephyr ISDN codec) has been the world leader in broadcast-quality remote technology for 20 years no wonder broadcasters seeking excellent remotes over public IP networks and mobile phone data services choose Z/IP ONE. All the most popular coding algorithms from Frauhnhofer, such as AAC-HE, AAC-LD, AAC-LC and MPEG-2 Layer III (MP3), plus optional apt-X Enhanced, couple with exclusive Telos ACT Agile Connection Technology to deliver rock-solid audio despite varying network conditions, while the worldwide Z/IP Server rendezvous service helps users connect to other Z/IP ONE codecs without having to know IP addresses or dialing a connection. A NAT traversal server helps locate Z/IP ONE codecs and deliver audio to receivers located behind corporate firewalls and Network Address Translation layers.
The new Axia Fusion modular mixing desk has broadcasters talking! In addition to its strikingly beautiful design, this AoIP console features capabilities refined from a decade of AoIP experience: 4 Program and 4 Auxiliary mixing buses, built-in voice dynamics and per-source EQ, fully-automatic clean feeds, integrated IFB/Talkback for in-studio and remote guests, Virtual Mixing (VMix) technology with 16 five-channel sub-mixers, and much more. Fusion's lovely anodized metal work surfaces feature rub-proof markings that can't fade or be scratched off; high-resolution OLED channel displays show source assignments, talkback activity and full-time confidence meters for all sources, and its attractive widescreen UI permits metering of up to 10 sources at once, with selectable meter ballistics.
White Paper Presentation on AoIP In addition to the products shown in the exhibition hall, Telos Alliance Chief Science Officer Greg Shay will present a White Paper entitled How AES67, The New Audio-Over-IP Standard, Will Bring The Convergence Of Telecommunications, Studio Audio, And Intercom at the EBU Breakfast in the Emerald Room of the RAI Center on 14 September. Shay's paper will outline the future of broadcasting's networked content-creation infrastructure, with an inside look at the transformative effects of the AES67 interoperability standard.
