Special Distinction: ZEI Presents Supplier Award to GEWO

OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 16.06.2016.

ZEISS has honored the company GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH with the Supplier Award of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group. Dr. Hermann Gerlinger, Member of the Executive Board of Carl Zeiss AG and Head of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group, presented the award to GEWO Managing Directors Georg Woitzik, Stefan Woitzik and Andreas Woitzik during the 9th Suppliers Day. Gerlinger commented: "GEWO has been reliably supplying us with highly complex mechanical parts and modules for the past ten years. In view of the volatility of the semiconductor market, this is a major challenge that GEWO has overcome with a high degree of flexibility. The Supplier Award once again underscores the excellent performance of our partner."

An important milestone in the collaboration of the companies was the signing of a partnership agreement in 2012: since then, GEWO has been one of the Supply Chain Partners of the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group and is therefore playing a key role in the ongoing development of semiconductor manufacturing technologies. Managing Director and company founder Georg Woitzik also sees the Supplier Award as an impetus to strive for even more: "Thank you for the award. We are delighted to accept this award and see it as an incentive to achieve even better things in the future. Let me draw a comparison to soccer: GEWO started out as amateurs 30 years ago and has worked its way up to the premier league in recent years. Our next goal is the Champions League."

The Supplier Award is part of the strategic Supplier Management Program of the business group. Dr. Hendrik Seliger, Head of Supply Chain Management of Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, explains: "One key component of the Supplier Management Program is the promotion of networks and closer coordination with and between the suppliers. GEWO represents an important linking element within our supplier network." The Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group exchanges information and ideas with its strategic partners and preferred suppliers every year during the Suppliers Day.
