Vidcheck to Introduce Scalable and Flexible OnDemand Automated Quality Control at the 06 NAB Show

Exhibiting on booth SL5625, Vidcheck has chosen the 2016 NAB Show as the US launch venue for a fully scalable version of its Vidchecker automated quality control system.

Vidcheck OnDemand is designed for use by television content producers, content owners and broadcasters, comments Vidcheck COO Howard Twine. It is aimed at high-volume users and will be available within an efficient operational-expenditure framework. Vidchecker OnDemand licences can be deployed in burst mode, either across a public cloud (such as Amazon Web Services or Azure) or across virtual machines forming an on-site private cloud.

The burst mode concept allows customers to employ elastic computing to accommodate practically any scale of workflow. A broadcaster handling say 200 programmes per month might typically need to handle double this traffic level during coverage of a major international sports series. Vidcheck OnDemand is not merely scalable but has a variable scale driven by user demand.

Vidchecker is designed for checking file-based video, audio and related metadata before and after distribution. It is also used by broadcasters for checking files received from post-production and content distributors to ensure that file, video and audio parameters and levels are correct and ready for general transmission.

Vidchecker can test and correct multiple files simultaneously, providing a highly efficient alternative to checking conformance by eye and hand. It can also automatically and intelligently correct video and audio levels. Sub-SD, SD, HD, UHD, 4K, 8K and mixed workflows are supported. The Vidchecker GUI is accessed through a web browser either on the local machine or remotely over a network.
