Have you ever wondered who dominates the top of X/Twitter followers? The social network might be one that you love to hate, but we all cruise to our favourite X accounts to see what some celebs might have been thinking about.

Who are the top accounts for the Musk-owned social network that is now valued at much less than the billionaire might have paid for it?

Here's a look at the top three accounts on X, and who you might want to check out next time you're there.

X/Twitter: Elon Musk is number one According to last count, billionaire and current owner of Twitter/X Elon Musk currently has at least 161.7 million followers. He bought the social network in April 2022, and then promptly changed its name to the current X.

This puts him at the top of the list for amount of followers on his own website. Unfortunately, this hasn't had a positive impact on the social network's earnings, which have steadily declined since the buyover.

Musk's last post was made 18 August, which leaves visitors with a cryptic. X as humanity's collective consciousness.

Twitter's number two: Barack Obama Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States, but ranks number two on X/Twitter with 133.1 million followers. His profile describes him as a Dad, husband, President, citizen', though his last active post on the social network was way back in 2020.

What was his last post?

A heartfelt obituary for basketball player Kobe Bryant, who died on 26 January.

X/Twitter's number three is Justin Bieber The third spot on X/Twitter is none other than the singer Justin Bieber.

Bieber has a total of 114 million followers on his X account, even though he hasn't used the account since 2021.
