Cirrus Logic and Stardraw.com Announce Stardraw Control User Interface Reference Kit for CobraNet Audio Networks
AUSTIN, Texas, Mar. 15, 2007 Cirrus Logic Inc.(Nasdaq: CRUS) and Stardraw.com Ltd. today announced the availability of a general purpose, multizone intercom, paging and background music reference kit. This kit leverages the Stardraw Control tool that will allow audio consultants, integrators and installers to more easily design CobraNet audio networks with custom user interfaces for a superior user audio experience. Demonstrated through the CobraCom network-powered CobraNet hardware platform, the reference kit allows audio network designers to produce cost-effective solutions with engaging control panel graphics that are easy to use. CobraNet is widely seen as the leading industry solution for commercial and professional high-definition, networked digital audio.
Stardraw has made controlling audio networks simpler and helped enable CobraNet to be more easily designed into any networked audio system, not just the high-end pro-audio application, said Steve Gray, CobraNet applications manager, Cirrus Logic. Users will also have a great looking user interface that is functional and easy to use, bringing the advantages of CobraNet to a wider variety of audio networks.
Stardraw Control offers a drag-drop interface and intuitive design environment, enabling installers to configure systems and control them without having to write a single line of code. Fast, powerful, flexible and easy to use, Stardraw Control helps solve the problem of controlling heterogeneous systems by providing a software-based, unified control framework that can control any type of remotely-controllable equipment from any manufacturer, using any protocol.
The Stardraw Control reference design developed by Cirrus Logic provides a typical base station and system initialization user interface, enabling the integrator to customize the system and user interfaces to meet the requirements of the end user. Stardraw Control helps integrators and consultants design in features such as multizone audio volume and EQ control, background music source selection and full zone control of intercom and paging, all with intuitive and pleasing graphics for end users. For example, the reference kit could be used as the basis to rapidly implement an attractive, user-friendly interface for a digital audio paging, music and intercom system for houses of worship, manufacturing facilities, healthcare facilities, schools and even residences.
Stardraw Control with Cirrus Logics CobraCom Reference Platform, a complete, board-level design kit, demonstrates the simplicity of implementing network-powered CobraNet digital audio devices. The board includes one RJ45 connector for CobraNet/Power-Over-Ethernet connection, one mic level input, one 15-watt speaker level output andRS-232 and GPIO connectors. Onboard processing includes one Cirrus Logic CS496102 CobraNet interface and 32-bit DSP, and one CS4265 Audio Codec and Audio Interface.
The beauty of Stardraw Control is that is supports many protocols, including TCP/IP, RS-232, InfraRed and, of course CobraNet technology, and can control any other networked device that might be included in the system, said David Snipp, Stardraw.com chief executive officer. It is so simple to use that you no longer have to be a computer programmer to design a completely professional, personalized control application saving time and money for any audio network designer.
